Circa 1950's. Gorgeous, 10.20ctw oval cabochon cut natural star sapphire set into a four-prong platinum setting. The sapphire is surrounded with 20, semi-bezel/prong set, round brilliant cut diamonds, 0.60 ctw, clarity; SI1 to SI2, color; F-G. The second photo is in natural light, showing-off her beautiful 6 ray asterism; conducive to capturing the sapphire's true qualities as you would see when wearing it.
The entire setting has such a nice shape and the diamonds lend a very pretty sparkle. This ring would make a lovely alternative engagement ring.
Size 5.25 and can be sized with some limitations.
